Wascosa is partnering with KoKoTé: Laptop Bags Made from Trade Fair Tarpaulins

Our exhibition tarpaulins from the 2023 transport logistic trade fair in Munich have been given a second life. As part of an upcycling initiative in collaboration with KoKoTé, these old tarpaulins have been transformed into high-quality, custom-made laptop bags.

At its factory at Schattdorf in the canton of Uri, KoKoTé produces bags and accessories for both its own brand and third-party companies. Through a variety of collaborative projects, the people at KoKoTé:  create unique, custom-made products that blend Swiss craftsmanship with social engagement. The company is supported by the Association Equilibre and offers refugees - particularly women over the age of 26 - the opportunity to work while completing their education. The goal is to give people a real future here and make it easier for them to find work in Switzerland.

In Swahili, the name KoKoTé means "Where to." So, rather than asking, "Where do you come from?", KoKoTé focuses on "Where are you going?", supporting individuals on their journey toward the future. Furthermore, KoKoTé is a member of Swiss Label, which stands for quality, regionality, and responsible manufacturing.

We are delighted to have been a  part of this collaborative «  pet project »  bridging the gap between sustainability and social responsibility while supporting Swiss value creation. Each bag is a one-of-a-kind original - and a tangible piece of a future-oriented mindset.
